Currently, Ur and Shizuku had greatly exhausted both their physical and magical energies.

They began their activities at sunrise, underwent training and preparations, and then set out. They maintained a magical barrier while keeping a visual lookout for monsters, and after several minor skirmishes, they reached Aruto around noon that day. Moreover, upon arriving in Aruto, they had no time to rest. They had to replenish consumables and equipment and then hold a strategy meeting.

Even before the battle began, fatigue had deeply set in. Ur realized that if they continued the meeting and then proceeded to battle in this state, problems would arise. Shizuku, who had been using her magic, was even more drained.

“Meditation. Relax yourself.” -Diz

“I’m not feeling relaxed at all.” -Ur

Now, Ur and the others were lying on a bed. Ur and Shizuku were side by side, and Diz was leaning over them, covering them. Moreover, they were lying in their underwear. It was hard to resist the pure sight of so much exposed skin. No, it wasn’t tough, but it was in front of his sister.

“As I was saying, what’s the point of this? You said it’s for a good sleep, but.” -Ur

Trying to keep his flustered mind focused, Ur asked.

“Well, the idea is to teach an efficient method of rest and recovery. Instead of needing 8 hours of sleep, what if you could get a full night’s rest and recovery in just 1-2 hours? It would be incredibly time-efficient, right?” -Diz

“…I see.” -Ur

If they could do that, it would be more than just handy. Given their current situation and future endeavors, it was a technique they absolutely had to acquire. Increasing their available time was invaluable, especially when they needed to grow stronger.

Ur shook his head, trying to clear his mind of distractions. Then he caught a glimpse of Diz’s chest swaying beneath her nightgown.

He gave up and covered his eyes with his hands.

“Your hands are also important, so keep them free.” -Diz

“Give me a way out please.” -Ur

Ur observed as Diz explained that the technique involved circulating the body’s magic without using it up. By doing so, it relaxes the physical body, and the depleted magic is replenished from the external environment. Unlike magic, which requires proper chanting, this relies more on sensation.

“So, our skin needs to be in close contact.” -Diz

“Close contact…” -Ur

“Considering our genders, I’m the one who should be enduring, so don’t make such a pained face.” -Diz

“I’m very happy to be embraced by a beauty like you.” -Ur

“Pervert.” -Diz

He wasn’t in this situation willingly; it was unfair. But if asked whether he did not feel a little joy in this situation, it would be a lie, so all he could do was stay silent and endure the insults.

As Diz stepped back, Ur peered over to find Shizuku with her eyes closed. It wasn’t the same meditation as before, but she was breathing regularly, her ample chest rising and falling.

“…Is this what Diz’s so-called ‘art of sleeping’?” -Ur

“It’s not just deep sleep. It’s normalizing the flow within the body, making it more active.” -Diz

Diz pointed at Shizuku, urging Ur to look closely. Following her guidance, Ur also focused his gaze, noticing that there was a thin, film-like layer formed on Shizuku’s skin, as if made of faint light. Magic flowed along her body, tracing its contours.

“It’s a minimal-scale barrier formation technique that manipulates the flow of magic within the body, activating it and creating paths outside the body to efficiently absorb external magic into oneself. It’s a type of barrier, so it also makes it easier to detect external anomalies—a two-birds-with-one-stone situation.” -Diz

“I don’t get it.” -Ur

“Well, as long as you can grasp it intuitively, you don’t need to understand the theory. Now, it’s Ur’s turn.” -Diz

Diz smiled and leaned towards Ur, who was lying down.

In front of him stood his detestable adversary, the one who had stolen and was now trying to dissect Akane, but no matter how much he tried to tell himself this, she was undeniably beautiful.

Even before coming to Greed, Ur had learned some basic magic for everyday use, such as purification magic to cleanse the body. Even that required a tremendous amount of concentration. So, being told to manipulate the magic within his body was completely beyond him.

“Even when I interfere from the outside, the flow of magic is strangely sluggish. You don’t use magic much in your daily life, huh… Well, can’t be helped.” -Diz

Diz let out a small sigh and raised her body, which had been pressed close. Sitting astride Ur’s body, she slowly touched his stomach with both hands and closed her eyes.

“Accept it, okay?” -Diz

“What?” Ur tried to ask, but in the next moment, he felt an incredible foreign sensation where Diz was touching his stomach. It felt as if a heated mass had been inserted directly into his body. There was no pain, but he involuntarily gasped.

“What… is this?” -Ur

“I’m directly interfacing with the organ that stores your magic, in other words, your soul.” -Diz

“I, is… Is it safe?” -Ur

“You’ll be fine. I’m the one in danger.” -Diz

Diz’s voice couldn’t be heard from her mouth. It resonated directly from within Ur. The discomfort made him want to wriggle, but he remembered the word she had said earlier, “Accept,” and endured it.

Seeing his reaction, Diz laughed heartily.

“In general, when souls come into contact, the one doing the interference is overwhelmingly weak. Just your unconscious intention to resist could easily blow me away, so make sure to maintain your current state.” -Diz

“F-For how long…?” -Ur

Before he could finish his question, a change swept through Ur’s body. It felt like the blood, or perhaps the magic, flowing through his body suddenly heated up and began to circulate as if fighting a powerful monster. And then, that heat moved from inside his body to the outside and circulated back inside.

What was strange was that he had a sensation of “causing this state himself.” His body seemed to move on its own, and the magic began to flow.

“Don’t forget this feeling.” -Diz

Her words echoed in his mind. Ur tried to nod, but soon, the warmth enveloping his entire body, along with the accumulated fatigue in various ways, overwhelmed him, and he lost consciousness.

《Good morning, Nii-tan. 》

“…Good morning.” -Ur

At the sound of Akane’s voice, who was fluttering around in the form of a fairy right in front of him, Ur sat up. He was lying on the bed in the same position as before he lost consciousness. He felt a sticky sensation on his back, indicating that he had sweated quite a bit in his sleep.

“….How long did I sleep?” -Ur

“About three hours?” -Diz

In response to Ur’s question, Diz, who was leisurely sipping tea in a chair at the nearby desk, replied. She was dressed in comfortable clothing that allowed for easy movement, quite different from her underwear-clad state earlier in the carriage.

“How’s your body feeling?” -Diz

Ur raised himself up and began to move, examining his own body. He assessed the lightness of his body, checked for any problem areas, and carefully stretched as he continued his inspection.

“About 70-80%?” -Ur

“If it’s your first time, that’s not bad. Efficiency improves as you do more, so keep it up.” -Diz

“And what about Shizuku?” -Ur

“She woke up an hour earlier than you and is in perfect condition now. She’s out getting dinner. That girl is amazing.” -Diz

“She’s quite reliable.” -Ur

Ur sighed as he started to put on his discarded clothes. It wasn’t surprising to be amazed by Shizuku’s abilities. What was truly astonishing was his current physical condition. Even during normal sleep, he wouldn’t typically recover to this extent; he’d be lucky to reach 50-60% recovery.

However, with just three hours of sleep, his body had recovered to a level that was almost indistinguishable from a full eight hours of rest at an inn. And it was apparently going to improve even further in the future.

“Thanks for the guidance, Diz.” -Ur

“You’re welcome. It was worth the effort.” -Diz

“Effort, huh? Was it really challenging, interfering with the soul?” -Ur

It was an extraordinary method. Even as a relatively new adventurer, Ur had never heard of such a technique.

“Well, it’s dangerous and challenging, but more than that…” -Diz

“More than that?” -Ur

“Uhh…” -Diz

Uncharacteristically for her, she stumbled over her words for a moment, gazing out of the window at the view below. In a hushed tone, she finally uttered,

“It’s embarrassing.” -Diz

…To embrace each other half-naked?

Ur couldn’t bring himself to voice the question. Understanding the true meaning behind her words would have to wait for a later time, far down the road.
