Chapter 4 – The Great Tusked Boar (1)

7–10 minutes

“Thank you for protecting me from getting hurt. Are you alright?” -Woman

“You’re welcome. Put some clothes on. You’re naked.” -Ur

Ur commanded the stunningly beautiful girl straddling him to put on some clothes.

It was beyond merely eye-catching. The beautiful girl in front of Ur was terrifying.

Her face was flawlessly crafted like a doll created by a master artisan. Yet her expression exuded the gentle kindness of a mother. Her long, flowing silver hair, resembling gently rolling waves, cascaded over her slender shoulders and onto her ample bosom. Tracing down her navel, her enchanting legs straddled Ur’s body.

In this emergency situation, despite facing a threat to his life, Ur couldn’t take his eyes off her. He could feel an overwhelming desire to pounce on her body and devour her right then and there.

If he could die while indulging in this woman, wouldn’t that be the grand finale of a perfect life?

Such thoughts, which seemed to stem from a deranged mind, genuinely crossed his head, further heightening his wariness towards her.

This woman was dangerous.

“BUMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!”

The enraged roar of the Great Tusked Boar snapped Ur out of his confusion. The boar was trying to crush Ur to death.

The boar was furious. It was because the True Magic Core had shattered into pieces. Reduced to mere fragments. Ur empathized with its anger. After all, he had lost all hope of repaying his debts. Though their reasons for anger were the same, it seemed unfair that he was the one about to be killed.

“This is bad. I’m gonna die.” -Ur

“Do not worry.” -Woman

The silver-haired beauty stood up gracefully, facing the raging boar. Even her posture exuded elegance, flinching not once even in the face of the giant tusks raised in anger.

“You demon, who was born from sin, bear no guilt for your existence. However, if you obstruct my mission…” -Woman

She clasped her hands together in front of her chest, assuming a posture that resembled prayer.

“I shall vanquish you and bear the weight of your life.” -Woman

In the next moment, magical energy began swirling around her.

Accompanied by a strange, melodious sound that resonated directly in the heads of those present, the surrounding air started crackling with energy.

【Magic】

The art of replicating miracles invented by humans, drawing upon the source of all the phenomena that fill the world: magical energy. And she was wielding that power. Ur held his breath.

“Accept this, flames.”

Simultaneously, a massive fireball materialized before her. It was a scene that defied common sense, a spectacle of true magic. The fiery orb, guided by her will, shot straight toward the Great Tusk Boar—only to…

“………MO?”

The fireball struck directly, delivering a gentle, “lukewarm” breeze to the boar.

“….eh?” -Ur

“Ara?” -Woman

Ur couldn’t decide whether to laugh at the surreal sight of the fireball passing right through the monster or to make a perplexed face. The beautiful girl standing before him observed the outcome of the magic she had cast, and then, after contemplating for a while, raised her hand nonchalantly.

“Shall we briefly call a timeout?”

“BUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!”

The Great Boar was furious.

“There ain’t any damn timeouts!”

Ur embraced the girl and sprinted away with all his might.

           ◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆

“What the hell are you? What are you doing here? And where the hell is the True Magic Core?!” -Ur

“It probably consumed my magical power and shattered.” -Woman

“Fuck!!!” -Ur

Ur and the girl had taken refuge in a small room at the back of the hall. It was likely originally some sort of storage room. It was covered in a thick layer of dust, and 「relics」 that had turned into decayed junk were scattered all around. Outside, the Great Tusk Boar was probably still rampaging. It repeatedly crashed into the wooden door that Ur closed immediately upon entering the storage room. Miraculously, it hadn’t broken yet, but it was only a matter of time.

After shouting everything he wanted to say to her, Ur took a deep breath. He had no time to waste on this mysterious naked girl. There were countless questions he wanted to ask, but stopping to listen to her could be fatal.

For now, they had to find a way out of their current situation. Therefore, Ur started rummaging through this dirty little storage room.

“Are you looking for something?”

“Weapons, armor, tools—anything that can be useful. We’re gonna die at this rate.”

The patched-up spear he had just fixed was blown away by the explosion of that damn True Magic Core. Well, even if he had used it against the boar, it would have snapped in no time with its useless repairs.

“I shall help you.” -Woman

“Please do. Before the damn door’s blown away.” -Ur

And so, the boy and the naked beauty began searching the storage room. The room itself was quite small and narrow, and they quickly finished exploring it. It seemed that this storage room, or rather this three-story hall, was a place for some kind of ritual. Its meaning having been consumed by the dungeon, lost forever, but the ritual equipment (most of which had deteriorated) remained.

– Three ritual swords (one of them damaged)

– One ritual shield (damaged)

– Two robes that seemed to be used for the ritual

– Multiple vials that seemed to have been used in the ritual

That was all. Technically, these were artifacts that were unearthed from the dungeon, which meant they had to be handed over to that hobbit man who was the manager of the dungeon. But Ur ignored that. He would only consider such things after returning alive.

For now, Ur handed one of the ritual robes to the mysterious naked girl. Getting rid of a distracting presence like her in this emergency was a priority. Since she wasn’t wearing any shoes, he reluctantly gave her his own. Fortunately, the small-statured Ur and the girl had the same shoe size.

“Is it fine for me to have the shoes?” -Woman

“You can’t run barefoot. I have tabi socks (tattered from being mended over and over), so it’s better than nothing.” -Ur

“Can you escape?” -Woman

Facing the door of this narrow warehouse, the wild boar relentlessly charges. There’s already a hole, revealing the boar’s bloodshot eyes and massive tusks. It would probably break through with one more charge.

“First, I’ll jump out. While the boar is facing this way, run past it at full speed,” -Ur

“And what about you?” -Woman

“I’ll find an opportunity to escape.” -Ur

If there’s an opportunity, that is. It was a spacious hall with few obstacles. It was clear to Ur that evading the boar’s straight charge wouldn’t be easy. However, even if they split up and ran, most likely one of them would end up getting trampled to death.

In that case, it would be more advantageous numerically if at least one person managed to escape.

“Sneak away quietly, without drawing the attention of the Great Tusk Boar. That wa-“ -Ur

“I will not” -Woman

Before he could explain the escape plan, his words were interrupted. Her white, long fingers intertwined with his hand, even before he could question her.

“I cannot let you sacrifice yourself” -Woman

“Thanks for the lover-like line. But the fact remains that only one person can escape here. Can’t do anything about it.” -Ur

“In that case, I will become the decoy.” -Woman

“I couldn’t stand running away while listening to the sound of a woman becoming minced meat from behind.” -Ur

Ur rejected her proposal with a frustrated expression.

Of course, if there was a way to escape, Ur would want to leave this place right away. He would rush back to the cramped and stuffy dormitory and bury himself in bed, longing to see his little sister. However, the option of giving up a woman who was a complete stranger as a sacrifice did not exist within Ur.

Just because he was a「Nameless」 did not mean he had abandoned his ethical principles. There were those who did, but Ur despised such thinking. He had encountered many fools like that in his life.

Therefore, abandoning her was not an option. After all, originally, he was already facing the Great Tusked Boar alone. Nothing was going to change. That was how he consoled himself.

“I’m lending you my shoes. Make sure to escape. You can return ‘em later.” -Ur

“Do you want to die?” -Woman

“Of fuckin’ course not, Wanna get punched?” -Ur

Ur curled his lips in response to the perplexed expression on the beautiful girl’s face. What is up with this girl?

However, whether the beautiful girl understood or found his answer incomprehensible, she continued to stare at Ur intently. And then…

“Understood.” -Woman

Understood what? Ur felt an urge to ask for clarification, but he refrained. The boar seemed to be moving away, preparing for another charge. The final assault was coming. The door would be pulverized. Once the door was gone, there would be no turning back.

“All right, as soon as the door shatters, get out of here. Just as I said before.” -Ur

“I decline.” -Woman

“What?” -Ur

“I’ll fight too.” -Woman

The door shattered, signaling the pair’s battle.
